Pregnancy and those troublesome symptoms.

"What happened? Pregnancy is not an illness but I'm feeling really rotten!"
I am hearing this from a lot of expectant Mums and of course this is a time when medications either can't be used or are undesirable. It seems such a shame that when you should be looking forward to the next few months you are plagued with a series of horrid, niggling symptoms. Although individually these symptoms are minor, collectively they can really drag you down and the only support that is often offered is that you are told to "grit your teeth, it'll pass". Only the other day I was treating a young woman who had spent a long time trying to become pregnant and when at last she did, both her and her partner were over the moon. Next time I saw her she was in tears and wondering, in her own words, "why she had bothered". The pregnancy was progressing well and in fact she looked a picture of health but by the end of the day a mixture of nausea, heart burn and complete exhaustion was beginning to show itself in the dark rings under her eyes.
"If I'm like this now," she told me, "what am I going to be like by the end of my pregnancy."
Apprehension is natural during pregnancy, especially when it's the first time. But when this apprehension starts to turn to worry, or worse still, real anxiety something needs to be done.
It is wonderful to be able to do something to help. Even if the symptoms aren't completely eradicated they can often be eased to the point where they are of little concern.
So, don't put up with these things and spoil this amazing time.
Acupuncture, especially the system I practice, has a long, long history of treating all stages of pregnancy. Further informations: www.threeages.com
